Hey guys! I'm so excited to share with you guys Episode 4 of our Rustic Makeover Series on my YouTube Channel! Today, we are making over my friends master bedroom! We wanted to make this space peaceful for them, while still including personalized touches and their rustic style. We did all of this on a budget, by shopping at stores like Ikea, Ross or TJMaxx, DIY projects, and including decor we already had!

Before starting I makeover, I always ask:

What are the problems in this space?

What are the functions you want to accomplish in this room?

Once I have these questions answered, I'm able to really focus in on what changes need to be made in the room. Let's get started!

CLEAN UP & MAKE A PLAN!

A quick pick-up & declutter gives you a clean slate & a fresh mind to start your makeover! Before we started, we knew what items we were keeping, and what was being taken out. This helped the cleaning & decluttering process go so much smoother, because we knew exactly what went where!

As soon as I walked into their bedroom, I immediately knew I wanted to paint an accent wall in their master bedroom to bring brightness into the space! This also helped the dark furniture pop, and even though it made a big difference, it wasn't tough on the budget!

We also added our DIY Pipe Curtain Rod to their room! This gave a unique, rustic look, while staying within budget!

START SMALL & TAKE YOUR TIME!

Focus on one section at a time. A large area can be so overwhelming if you're trying to take it on all at once! Don't feel rushed to make the space look great. Makeovers usually take me weeks to plan out everything I want. Make sure you find things you LOVE & are INSPIRED by!

You can CUSTOMIZE Ikea furniture by adding custom drawer pulls or painting furniture you already have! This is another great tip to stay on budget but giving your space a fresh look.

When looking for new bedding, search for sheets at stores like Ross or TJ Maxx! You can get $60-80 sheets for just $20! Also, to add a high end & cozy look, layer pillows and blankets. Adding just a few extra pillows and a throw blanket to the top of the bed can really elevate the aesthetic and any added texture on those is great!

BE FLEXIBLE & ALLOW HICCUPS!

Sometimes what we envision just doesn't turn out! I hardly ever have a makeover without some type of hiccup! Having an open mind & looking at several options will help you find the best set up for you!

What a nice & bright refresh. I think my favorite of the 4 is the pantry, but I wouldn't mind this bedroom to sleep in.
